Bryant Library Welcomes Summer

It’s time to catch some rays of Vitamin D and break for summer, which means Bryant Library’s annual Summer Reading BINGO is upon us! All K-4th grade students received a copy of our challenge. We designed our BINGO to encourage readers to reach broadly–break out of the tried and true–and beat “summer slide.”

Literacy experts note that summer slide of learning, occurs when students are out of the school habit. For a more information and suggestions visit this website published by the Mayo Clinic.  Fortunately, reading, in all its shapes and forms, can help students maintain those sharp noggins! Reading to self, reading with someone else, being read to, or listening to audio books are all ways to stay ahead. Visit our collection of Summer Reading Suggestions and other mindful activities. Enjoy summer and READ!
